The Bimed Writing Relay within the Erasmus+ Desibook Project: A Successful Experience
As part of the Erasmus+ Desibook project, the Bimed Writing Relay proved to be an innovative and engaging experience, demonstrating how collaborative writing can be a powerful educational tool even in an international context.
Thanks to the relay methodology, students from different European schools had the opportunity to work together in creating a shared story, merging their voices and cultures into a single narrative. This approach not only enhanced their language skills but also fostered critical thinking, creativity, and peer collaboration.
The integration of the Writing Relay into the Desibook project represented a best practice in inclusive and digital education. The opportunity to write and share content in a transnational dimension allowed students to develop greater cultural awareness and experience the value of cooperative learning.
The experience was enthusiastically received by both teachers and students, who found writing to be an effective means of bridging different traditions and perspectives. The synergy between the Bimed model and the objectives of the Erasmus+ Desibook project confirmed the potential of creative writing as an innovative and inclusive educational tool capable of breaking down linguistic and cultural barriers.
The Bimed Writing Relay thus proved to be a successful practice, replicable in international contexts to promote cultural exchange and collaborative learning, while valuing the talent and creativity of every student.
The Importance of Drawings in Storytelling
A key element that made the stories of the Writing Relay even more engaging was the use of drawings. The illustrations, created by the students themselves, brought characters, settings, and emotions to life, enriching the reading experience and reinforcing the value of visual storytelling. The integration of words and images further enhanced participants’ creativity, offering a more immersive and accessible approach to narration.
